Patriece is determined to be a neonatal nurse, but skipping school and poor grades almost sidetracked her dream. Through Open Meadow's Step Up program for middle school students she received tutoring, homework help and adult support to help her through the tough problems all teens face.
STEP UP is one of 31 after-school and mentoring programs supported by the Portland Children's Levy promoting academic achievement so students like Patriece have a greater chance of graduating from high school and having a bright future.
