CHILDREN ABUSE PREVENTION & INTERVENTION PROGRAMS
Reaching Those Affected by Family Violence and Neglect –
2009-10 Annual Investment of $2.2 million in 13 programs
Prevention and intervention make all the difference. These programs reach children affected by neglect, family violence, parental drug and alcohol use and homelessness. They also support stressed families most at-risk for abuse and neglect by providing intensive case management, therapy, counseling, respite care and parent education.
Research shows that programs providing multiple support systems that ease family stress are most effective in preventing family violence, abuse and neglect.
